What is this role responsible for?
We are seeking passionate and knowledgeable Code Mentors to join our program aimed at teaching high school students. As a Code Mentor, you will guide students through coding projects, foster their creativity, and help them develop practical skills in one or more of the following fields: Web Development, App Development, Game Development, or Data Analytics.
These roles are part-time and hourly and can be done remotely working with students based around the world.
This role will include:

Working closely with a variety of students based across the world - including the US, Asia, Australia, and Europe.
Maintaining reasonable levels of communication with students outside of formal sessions.

Fields of Mentorship:

Web Development: Teach students to build websites and web applications using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Vue.js.
App Development: Mentor students in creating mobile applications for iOS and Android using frameworks such as Flutter or React Native.
Game Development: Help students explore the world of game creation, from designing game mechanics to developing interactive games using Unity or Godot.
Data Analytics: Lead students through the fundamentals of data analysis, including working with Python or R, using libraries like Pandas.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver Engaging Lessons: Conduct 1:1 and group mentoring sessions with high school students.
Support Project-Based Learning: Help students apply what they learn by guiding them through project creation.
Personalised Mentorship: Tailor your teaching to meet the needs and skill levels of each student.
Facilitate Learning Outcomes: Ensure students understand key concepts and complete projects.
Track Progress: Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback.

Requirements:

Expertise in One or More Fields: In-depth knowledge in at least one of the following areas.
Teaching or Mentoring Experience: Prior experience teaching or mentoring students, especially at the high school level.
Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to students.
Project-Based Learning Approach: Familiarity with guiding students through project-based learning.
Passion for Coding and Education: A genuine interest in helping students develop coding skills.

Qualifications:

Experience with popular web technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, React, Vue, etc.).
Experience with mobile app frameworks.
Experience with game development engines.
Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages (Python, R, Pandas, etc.).

Nice to have:

Willingness to participate in designing curriculum and course materials.
Oxbridge/Ivy League graduate or Industry experts.
