About the role | Mo te turanga mahi
We are looking for an experienced Member Engagement and Experience Manager to lead our member engagement and experience strategy. Reporting directly to the General Manager Membership Services, this role will manage a small but dedicated team dedicated to delivering cohesive, enriching experiences for our members, making sure they feel valued, supported, and connected. This role is based in central Wellington, with the expectation that the successful candidate will work from the office at least three days per week.
You will direct initiatives that boost meaningful member engagement, promote cross-team collaboration, and enhance services that meet the diverse needs of the engineering community. By championing the voices of our members, you'll strengthen individual relationships and amplify Engineering New Zealand's influence—ultimately delivering lasting value.
Key deliverables include:
Leading a small, dedicated team, fostering collaboration and transparency.
Developing and promoting our strategic engagement and experience model.
Lead cross-team collaboration to align strategies and working closely with all internal teams to ensure cohesive and aligned efforts.
Supporting the design and delivery of quality, high impact events.

You will be a strong people leader who will bring a strategic mindset with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, strong writing and editing abilities, and the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Empathetic and collaborative, you will be a team player committed to inclusivity, diversity, and advancing the engineering profession, while also being innovative in your approach to problem-solving. This role does require regular domestic travel.
