New Zealand Food Network (NZFN) is a for-purpose organisation that prevents good food from going to landfill and redirects it to communities who need it most. We believe it is our collective responsibility to ensure everyone in New Zealand has access to healthy, nutritious food.
To address this, we collect quality bulk donated and surplus food from food organisations and producers and redistribute it to our Food Hubs (food rescue organisations, iwi and charities), so that they may feed the communities they serve.
We are seeking a talented Marketing and Communications Manager to join our dynamic team to drive the marketing and communications strategy for the organisation.
Role Overview:
The Marketing & Communications Manager will lead all branding, marketing, and communication efforts. This office-based role involves developing and implementing the marketing strategy, managing the marketing budget and working with stakeholders and external agencies to increase brand awareness and donor acquisition. A member of the senior leadership team and a key part of the emergency response team.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development: Develop and implement NZFN's overall communications and marketing strategy.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver a comprehensive communications and marketing plan.
Brand Leadership: Take responsibility for growing, enhancing, and promoting NZFN's brand profile across various platforms.
Leadership Role: Part of the senior leadership team, leads by example and role models NZFN's values.
People Management: Manage the Marketing & Communications Specialist and Office Manager, fostering their growth and ensuring work delivery aligned with the organisation's goals.
Budget Management: Oversee and manage NZFN's marketing and communications budget to ensure effective use of resources.
Emergency Response: A key role in NZFN's emergency response team, ensuring timely and clear communications in urgent situations.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing and communications strategies.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience working with PR agencies.
Someone who is prepared to roll up their sleeves and help where it is required.
Enjoys contributing to a strong team culture and being part of a team.
Qualifications:
Marketing, communications or similar qualification is preferable or proven experience in a marketing and/or communications role.
Skills required:
Minimum 2-3 years in a marketing or communications management role.
Exceptional writing and editing skills.
Experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
Ability to align content creation with strategic objectives and brand positioning.
Thinks outside the box and always looking for new ways to tell our story and reach our target audiences.
