Company Description
This is not your run-of-the-mill marketing maternity cover role. We are searching for a senior retail marketer to shape and drive marketing across our apparel category. This is a key category for The Warehouse brand – we can guarantee it has the challenge factor, scope, and ample opportunity!
The Warehouse Group looks after some of Aotearoa's iconic brands - The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery, and Noel Leeming. Job Description
Reporting into our Head of Media & Retail Marketing, you will own the marketing strategy and execution for the apparel category, joining a cohort of 3 other Marketing category Leads (looking after respective categories across The Warehouse Brand). Apparel is an integral category to the business that is currently in 'rebuild' phase with optimisations being made to the continuity part of the range and big new season launches that tap into trends.
A snapshot of your role will see you:

Lead the development of the category marketing strategy for the apparel category
Support and deliver category plans through marketing campaign development and execution
Use the best parts of our apparel range to drive brand perception for The Warehouse and traffic into stores
Ensure the category teams are supported with impactful marketing activity to drive sales, profitability and, category strategy and trading requirements
Work closely with our in-house creative and media teams, external agencies, merchandising, operations and omni experience to ensure marketing activities are integrated to provide a cohesive customer experience
Manage agreed aspects of Marketing A&P budget efficiently across activity to improve effectiveness and ROI
Lead one direct report

Qualifications
We are looking for a solid operator. Someone strategic, forward looking who is comfortable to challenge thinking. But someone who can equally change gears and get into the doing, collaborating and wrangling stakeholders along the way. Retail savvy, influential and customer centric describe you down to a t. Your marketing background, and trading mindset are an absolute must. Our wish-list also includes:

Retail marketing experience is crucial (apparel would be the icing on the cake)
Multi-channel experience
Curious about consumer/shopper behavior
Adaptable, flexible – thrive with pace
Strong leadership skills – ability to coach, mentor and inspire
A confident interactor and strong communicator – comfortable hustling stakeholders to get alignment
Courageous bold thinker, testing new channels and spaces

We are aiming for an early December start to allow for a handover
