Position Type: Full-Time Contract (September - March) Role Summary: The Marketing and Communications Executive will be vital in promoting SailGP and the Black Foils (NZ SailGP Team), focusing on enhancing our presence and engagement in New Zealand. This position involves executing fan-centric electronic direct mail (EDM) campaigns, managing influencer marketing strategies, writing press releases and stakeholder communications, and collaborating with various media outlets and partners to drive visibility and excitement for SailGP and the Black Foils. Key Responsibilities: Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate with internal teams, event stakeholders, commercial and media partners to ensure the execution of cohesive and effective communication strategies under the guidance of the Senior Marketing and Communications Manager, New Zealand. Draft and distribute press releases, media kits, and other communication materials as needed. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Event Promotion: Support the planning and execution of marketing and promotional activities for the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix | Auckland. Coordinate with event management teams to ensure seamless integration of marketing initiatives within event operations. Liaise with media outlets and influencers to continue gaining recognition and awareness amongst fans in New Zealand and around the world. Campaign Management: Develop and implement fan-focused EDM campaigns to drive engagement, information, and education for the ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix | Auckland and the Black Foils, NZ SailGP Team. Create and manage influencer marketing strategies to amplify SailGP's presence and reach within New Zealand. Monitor and analyze campaign performance, making data-driven recommendations for optimization. Content Creation and Management: Work with other teammates including the Social Media Manager and to ideate and coordinate the development of engaging content tailored to the New Zealand audience for digital platforms, including social media, websites, and newsletters. Assist in creating promotional materials and ensuring consistent messaging across all channels. Publish content across social media channels from time to time. Market Research and Analysis: Analyze activities and industry trends to inform marketing strategies and tactics, providing suggestions to improve engagement regularly. Collate data and information from our research partners to help inform communication and engagement strategies. About You: Significant experience in marketing and communications, focusing on sports, entertainment, or large-scale events, is preferred. Knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand media landscape and hold positive relationships within Proven experience in managing EDM campaigns and influencer marketing. Strong writing, editing, and communication skills. Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics platforms. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Enthusiastic about media and communication. A willingness to roll up your sleeves and make things happen. Have a passion for New Zealand and for promoting it on the global stage. Knowledge of Te Reo Maori would be an asset.
