Maritime Assistant:

Environment Southland have a variety of Summer Student roles available commencing in November or December 2024.
You are eligible to apply if you are currently enrolled in a tertiary institution or have graduated this year.
All roles are offered at a rate of $27.80 per hour.
All roles are 37.5 hours per week unless specified otherwise.

Maritime Assistant: Minimum 20 hours per week / maximum 30 hours per week.
Contract end date: 17 January 2025.
This is a part-time role - including weekends and public holidays, assisting our maritime staff with public education and gathering information from water users.
Generally, the hours will be 8:00am - 4:30pm, but you could be required to start as early as 06:00am on weekends and public holidays.
The role will involve working on boat ramps around Southland (primarily at Bluff, the Oreti River, Riverton, and Te Anau) conducting surveys and distributing boating safety information.
You will also be in the office, undertaking data entry tasks.
We have two positions available, and you will be working together as a team.
This role will suit a reliable, mature person who is confident in communicating with a wide range of people.
