Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora works towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.
We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered, and locally tailored.
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Northern regional team as Manager Community and Whanau Wellbeing , leading the Waitemata based multidisciplinary team including Public Health Nurses, Vision and Hearing Technicians, Medical staff, immunisation and administration personnel, and health promoters.
The primary purpose of this role is to achieve improved public health outcomes focusing on promotion and prevention by leading teams in a new way of working that puts whanau at the centre and is aligned with and will deliver Pae Ora.
You are an experienced leader able to nurture and develop a team to make them feel valued.
You're open to new ideas and create a culture where individuals at all levels bring their ideas on how to 'do it better' to the table.
You're able to work collaboratively across the sector and organisational boundaries to influence contributions to improve outcomes for our whanau and communities.
Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree, ideally clinical, in a relevant field or comparable experience working at a senior leadership level 5+ years experience in varied environments with responsibilities for achieving equitable health outcomes and responsiveness to Te Tiriti o Waitangi Proven experience in public health leadership and leading multi-disciplinary teams Relationships with iwi/hapu and/or Pacific communities and leaders Emergency Management / CIMS training and experience Able to think, plan and act strategically and to connect with and inspire people to build a highly motivated and engaged workforce Demonstrated mature communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present in a clear, persuasive, and impactful way, to influence others to embrace change, and to develop, unify and maintain strong internal and external relationships essential for achieving sustainable outcomes A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
