We're looking for an experienced leader in emergency management and business continuity, to join our dedicated and friendly Business Resilience Team. This is a permanent, full-time role, based primarily in our central Wellington office.About the role:The Manager, Business Resilience reports to the Head of Strategy and Performance and has one direct report – the Senior Advisor Business Resilience. The role works with and across all Greater Wellington business groups and maintains a collaborative working relationship with the Wellington Region Emergency Management Office (WREMO).The role is responsible for leading Greater Wellington's business resilience programme which, with the support of the Senior Advisor Business Resilience, includes developing organisational resilience, promoting and supporting business units to manage and recover from emergencies and business interruptions, and supporting the delivery of operational capability for the Wellington Region Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) in collaboration with WREMO.This involves developing capability across people, infrastructure, systems, processes, and plans, and bringing different staff and functions from across Greater Wellington together to deliver organisational resilience; all designed to ensure Greater Wellington is ready and able to respond appropriately in an emergency and provide support through the Regional Recovery Coordination Centre (RRCC) to coordinate regional recovery efforts.Conducting workshops and exercises, as well as maintaining up-to-date emergency management and business continuity plans is a core part of this role, as well as enabling and being a core member of the Greater Wellington Crisis Management Team (CMT).Skills and experience required:To be successful in this role you will need to have the ability to create and maintain trusted relationships and to advise and influence across a variety of stakeholders and across all levels of the organisation to achieve outcomes; demonstrated ability to build a high-performing matrix team across an organisation; experience with people management or mentoring and supporting others to succeed.You will be someone who enjoys a challenge and operates with a strategic mindset; is able to provide thought and sector leadership; and who is process-driven and organised.
