Are you a hands-on problem solver with experience in mechanical and electrical things? Join our Queenstown team as a Maintenance Planner and play a crucial role in maintaining our community's wastewater infrastructure.
In this position, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities for equipment, facilities, and systems. You will ensure that maintenance work is performed efficiently, cost-effectively, and with minimal disruption to operations.
What's on offerA great team-working environmentEmployee share plan where employees have the opportunity to purchase discounted Veolia sharesEmployee assistance programs (EAP) through assure which covers mental health, nutrition, financial, legal, coaching and career transition supportCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageOpportunities for professional growth and developmentStable employment with a reputable organisationWhat you'll be responsible forDevelop and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program, including schedules, procedures, and documentation.Plan maintenance activities, such as repairs, overhauls, inspections, and replacements, based on equipment condition, manufacturer recommendations, and operational requirements.Coordinate with operations and other departments to ensure maintenance activities are able to be scheduled during appropriate downtime or outages.Prepare work orders, job plans, Shutdown plans and material requisitions for maintenance tasks, ensuring that necessary resources (parts, tools, personnel) are available.Monitor and track maintenance activities, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.Analyse maintenance data, such as equipment failure rates, downtime, and repair costs, to identify areas for improvement and implement preventive measures.Develop and maintain a spare parts inventory system, ensuring the availability of critical components and minimising stock levels.Collaborate with Network operators, engineers, and vendors to troubleshoot complex issues and develop effective solutions.Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices related to maintenance activities.Provide training and guidance to maintenance personnel on procedures, techniques, and safety protocol.What you'll need to be successfulQualifications: Bachelor's degree or relevant diploma level in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.Experience: Proven experience in maintenance planning and scheduling, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, techniques, and equipment.Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry standards.Personal Attributes: Proven ability to maintain accurate work records.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong organizational and time management abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Willing to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues for a harmonious team environment.An effective communicator who can interact and relate to staff at all levels internally and externally.A self-starter who can work with a high degree of autonomy.Planning and organisational ability.High degree of personal integrity.A good work ethic.Can maintain a stable performance level during periods of pressure.Able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances.A practical problem solver.Thrives under pressure and can meet tight deadlines.Willing to complete further training as required.Other relevant skills or information: Current driver's licence.Ability and willingness to work out of hours when required & in any location in NZ.At Veolia Australia and New Zealand, you'll join a team of over 6000 passionate innovators and where you'll have the opportunity to build your career.
