As a seasonal lifeguard, you will ensure the safety and enjoyment of pool users by providing quality supervision and upholding health and safety standards.
Responsibilities:Providing a safe environment through proactive supervision and positive interaction with customersEducating and enforcing pool rulesResponding to any First Aid emergenciesEnsuring our pool and the surrounding areas are always cleanAs our centre operates from 5:30am to 7:45pm Monday to Friday, 7 days a week, the ability to work early morning, late night, and weekends is vital. The ideal candidate would have flexibility to work across a variety of shifts Monday – Sunday, and be able to work 4 hours on Saturday and Monday.
We are looking for strong swimmers, who are dedicated to helping others.
Minimum Requirements:The first step in becoming a lifeguard for Auckland Council is to be able to pass this swim test. Please only apply for this position if you feel you can:
Swim 50m breaststrokeRetrieve an object from the bottom of the poolTread water for 5 minutesFlexibility, reliability and a commitment to working early, late, and weekend shifts are essential.
To work as a pool lifeguard in New Zealand, you will need to hold a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC). We will provide ALL training for you free of charge and will pay for you to attend the training to enable you to get your Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate (PLPC). You will be required to attend the following training dates at our West Wave location Monday to Friday, 8am-4pm:
