What we're looking for

We are seeking a Lifeguard on a casual and/or temporary short term basis to fill in when staff are absent or away on leave.
This will appeal if you are a confident swimmer and looking for an opportunity to earn while using your existing skills or interested in becoming a trained Lifeguard.
The pool facilities are based in Waiouru, and operate from 6. am until . pm during the week and reduced hours over the weekend.
In this role you will assist the Lifeguard Team Leader with the following tasks:
Greet all visitors to the pool in a friendly and courteous manner. Monitor activities in swimming areas to prevent water incidents. Provide assistance to swimmers. Ensure pool cleanliness and water quality are to the required standard at all times. Report any damage or facilities maintenance. Control and maintain all allocated stores, consumables, and equipment. General housekeeping/cleaning of the overall pool facility. Committed to keeping our friends and whanau safe while they are exercising or having fun  To be successful in this position ideally you will: Be a confident swimmer and have a Lifeguard qualification; however, we can provide training to the right person. Be able to swim m in 6 minutes or less. Have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Be a committed team player, who is able to act in a proactive manner. Remain calm while dealing with incidents and during an emergency. Have (or could obtain) a First Aid Certificate. Maintain the required security clearance.
