Mo tenei turanga mahi About this role The purpose of the Risk, Assurance and Resilience (RAR) function is to provide a centralised function which leads, engages, and provides support and oversight of Risk, Assurance, and Resilience activities to support the Ministry to achieve its objectives.
In order to achieve this, the aim of RAR is to elevate risk and assurance activities to align to government good practice and to support the Ministry in embedding good practices, controls, and understanding of risk throughout its business processes.
This role is responsible for improving the Ministry's Internal Audit approach and taking ownership for the design and delivery of the Internal Audit plan, using their own skills as well as managing outsourced suppliers to complete audits.
You will lead and participate in complex financial, operational, and compliance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of our internal controls and processes.
It will work across the Ministry to identify areas of improvement, provide valuable insights, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of the Ministry's risk management practices.
Nga Whakaritenga Mokito Skills and Experience A minimum of three years' experience in an internal audit function In-depth understanding of audit approaches, internal control frameworks, and risk assessment methodologies Ability and drive to take ownership of the delivery of Ministry's Internal Audit plan Exceptional analytical skills, enabling the role holder to navigate complex situations, identify root causes, and propose practical and contextually appropriate solutions.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic public sector environment Significant experience providing risk and assurance advice in a government agency and taking a leading role in that function Certification or qualifications in a risk and assurance field is preferred Whanuitanga Utu a-Tau Salary range Salary range for this role is $108,976 to $132,277pa.
Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
