We are seeking a dedicated learning support coordinator (LSC) to join our team at Bream Bay College. The LSC plays a pivotal role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all. This leadership role involves working closely with students, staff, whanau, and external agencies to ensure that every student, particularly those with additional learning needs, receives the necessary resources and support to thrive academically and socially. Key responsibilities: Lead and manage the Learning Support Department. Support information gathering, assessments and screening. Build strong partnerships with whanau, ensuring communication and cultural responsiveness. Facilitate professional development initiatives on supporting students with learning needs. Coordinate tailored learning programmes, working closely with external specialists and agencies. Develop and manage Individual Education Plans (IEPs), monitor student progress, and adjust support strategies accordingly. Advocate for equitable access to resources and services for students with additional learning needs. Lead the Learning Support team in recruitment, staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation. Collaborate with staff to foster inclusive teaching practices, providing coaching, peer observation, co-teaching, and resources.
