St Peter's College has a position available within the learning support team. The Learning Assistant will work alongside and support students with additional learning needs. We are looking for someone who is full of energy, shows initiative, is caring, and must be a team player. This role requires someone that is calm, reliable with the ability to provide both behavioural and academic support. Ideally you will have had experience with young people with additional needs.

Have experience in structured literacy learning.The ability to relate to, and build trust with, young people who have additional needsThe ability to communicate effectively to provide information, assistance, and instructionExcellent interpersonal skillsTo be flexible in working arrangementsHave a professional and warm mannerThe ability to remain calm under pressureTo be able to work independently and as part of a team.The potential to partake in extracurricular activities within the school would be advantageous.Be a N.Z. resident or have a current work visa and is eligible to work in N.Z. This is a fixed term position for the 2025 school year.
Start date 28 January 2025
The hours will be varied and will be discussed and negotiated during the interview.
This is a term time only position.
