Learn to Swim Instructor Moana-Nui-a-Kiwa Pool and Leisure Centre
Here at Auckland Council, our leisure centres play a key role in achieving our goal of getting Auckland to be the most active city in the world.
And right now, we're looking for part-time Learn to Swim Instructors to join our Pool and Leisure Centre teams across Auckland to help achieve that goal!
This is a fantastic job where you don't need any formal qualifications or experience to apply just a passion to work with our diverse community while also making a difference! We'll provide the training you need to succeed in the role.
Based at Moana-Nui-a-Kiwa Pool and Leisure Centre, day-to-day you could expect to work on:
Teaching people the basic principles of how to swim (we'll teach you how to do this!) Maintaining a fun, caring and safe environment for customers and visitors Being part of an amazing team serving your local community We would love to hear from those who can work 8 hours per week, with possible additional hours. The shifts are spread across Monday to Friday, and the weekends.
He korero mou : About you You are a great swimmer and instructor, have a love of water, have exceptional customer service skills, and are able to communicate well with members of the public.
You don't need any formal qualifications or experience. If you do have a recognised swim teacher qualification or previous experience as a Swimming Instructor, that would be fantastic! However, we will provide full, comprehensive training.
You must also be willing to complete First Aid training.

We strongly encourage up-skilling and training. Once you are hired you would have the opportunity to pick up extra hours in a variety of roles such as Lifeguard, Customer Service Rep, Recreation Assistant and more.
