Tongariro School is dedicated to providing a nurturing and dynamic environment for akonga, kaiako, and the community. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic lead reo rua Kaiako to join our team and help support our mission of excellence in education.
Must be:
A NZ registered teacher
Ability to deliver teaching of 50 - 81% in Te Reo Maori (Level 2)
Should:
Demonstrate an understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and Te Marautanga o Aotearoa
Understanding of the role Mana Whenua play in our school and support their aspirations
Be able to integrate Te Reo Maori with digital technology
Implement a range of assessment strategies
Ensure a localised curriculum is evident throughout planning, teaching and learning
Have a willingness to share and learn as part of a team which values professional learning and teaching as inquiry
Actively support decisions taken by the team or school
Have a strong commitment to ongoing professional development of Te Reo Maori
Be culturally aware and inclusive
Have strong organisational skills
Have a strong commitment to accelerating student achievement
Hold a growth mindset
Role model and promote the school values
Have sound positive classroom management skills
