The Electoral Commission needs an experienced practitioner in the training industry who is looking for a new and exciting challenge.
You will play a key role in providing strategic leadership and technical capability in designing, developing, and delivering the election delivery training practice, products, services, and assurance for electoral events.

You will be able to communicate effectively across all levels and develop influential and trusted relationships. You must be pragmatic in your approach and be adaptable to a changing environment. You will have:
Proven experience in successfully leading, designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating complex training programmes using a wide range of methods and channels. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and liaison skills with proven ability in relationship management. Well-developed analytical skills and excellent judgement. Ability to think strategically and pragmatically to solve complex problems. Solid ability to tell an evidence-based story and recommendations to stakeholders and senior leaders. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience working on projects with multiple components. Knowledge / awareness of Te Reo and Tikanga (desired). Strong cultural awareness to encourage diversity and inclusion. Ideally, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and/or 8+ years of experience in leading or in a senior advisory capacity in training, preferably in a government operations environment. The successful candidate will be focusing on planning, designing, developing, and implementing training practice framework and training programmes for the Maori Electoral Options and the Local Body Election in 2025 and the General Election in 2026.
Key responsibilities for the Lead - Operations Delivery Training include: Developing and delivering a training practice framework and an integrated implementation plan for all roles involved in the election delivery. Ensuring alignment of training programmes to the Commission's values, service strategies, and business goals. Identifying and assessing future and current training needs through job analysis, change initiatives, and consultation with business managers. Overseeing the design, development, and deployment of training programmes for Maori Electoral Options 2025, Local Body Election 2025, and the General Election 2026. Building effective relationships and consulting with business groups and external stakeholders to achieve successful project delivery. Designing and delivering impactful training programmes and self-help tools to ensure staff are knowledgeable, able, and empowered to excel in their roles.
