MTL is an employee-owned, multi-discipline engineering design and project delivery services company based in Auckland. MTL provides a full range of professional services from early feasibility studies, strategic planning and design, project management through to construction and commissioning support for a diverse range of industries both in NZ, Australia, Asia Pacific and Africa. These industries include: Geothermal, Hydroelectric & Thermal Power Plants Water Treatment Facilities Health Sector General Industrial Facilities and Building works The Role An exciting opportunity to join the MTL team as a Lead Designer - Mechanical, you will be responsible for managing a multi-discipline design team for large-scale infrastructure projects. You will work with project managers and senior engineers to develop design solutions that meet project objectives and budgets. You will be client-facing and able to use your experience and knowledge to create and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings of process, civil, structural, and mechanical engineering designs using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Navisworks, Revit, and Inventor software. Experience 10+ years of experience working as a Mechanical Designer in New Zealand, preferably with client-facing experience. In-depth understanding of best practices for mechanical design. Proficiency in 2D CAD and 3D modelling software. Resource management of a multi-discipline design team. Supporting project proposals and fee estimates.
