As the Lead Data Analyst, you'll spearhead insight generation, leveraging data to tell progressive stories and drive data-informed decision-making across the organisation. You will focus on understanding key business and customer problems, identifying gaps, and providing actionable recommendations. You will help establish AKQA as a leader in the creation and deployment of data-driven insight.

Located in Auckland or Wellington, we work in a hybrid WFH model, with Wednesday and Friday based in the studio each week.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Define and execute data and analytics strategies, connecting business challenges with data-driven solutions
Generate actionable insights from complex and varied data sources, crafting compelling data narratives that highlight progress and identify opportunities
Transform insights into suggested actions for strategy, experience design, and creative processes
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
Leverage expertise in BI tools to create impactful visualisations and dashboards
Direct analysts on client projects, reviewing and guiding test plans, data collection, and analysis
Work with engineering teams to design and implement robust data pipelines
Oversee implementation of data tracking systems, ensuring data integrity and quality
Build consultative partnerships with clients, providing insights on industry trends and best practices
Transform data insights into compelling presentations that inspire both colleagues and clients
Advocate for data-driven decision-making within AKQA and with clients
Contribute to new business efforts, including responding to client briefs and RFPs

QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS:

Strong experience in delivering data and analytics strategies, from defining measurement frameworks to extracting actionable insights
Expert knowledge of business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Looker Studio
Previous experience working with Google Analytics, GDS, Google Tag Manager, and the wider Google Analytics 360 suite
Proven leadership experience in managing and developing analytics teams
Strong statistical analysis skills and ability to apply sound analytical techniques
Deep understanding of data tracking systems and quality assurance processes
Experience in implementing and optimising data collection methodologies
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights in compelling ways
Track record of building strong client relationships and driving business growth through analytics
Experience in contributing to business development and RFP responses
Demonstrated ability to foster cross-discipline collaboration
Strong project management skills with experience in delivering complex analytics projects
Passion for data education and improving organisational data literacy
Commitment to innovation and staying current with industry trends in data science and analytics
