As a Lead & Coach, you will lead, coach, and develop your team (10 direct reports) who deliver community development, library, and arts experiences for our customers. This role is specifically for the Albert-Eden-Puketapapa Local Boards.
Day to day your responsibilities will look like:
Delivering outstanding service to the people and diverse communities of Tamaki Makaurau
Developing and growing positive relationships with Local Boards and key stakeholders
Supporting and guiding your direct reports in talent recruitment, training, community engagement, development, and performance
Strategically leading and coaching your team to innovate and change the way we deliver community experiences
Growing capability and improving outcomes for Maori & Pasifika
Collaborating with colleagues and Elected Members to create and deliver integrated local board plans
You'll know you're making a difference when highly engaged and capable team members, leaders, and stakeholders are working together, and more Aucklanders use more of our services, more often.
We are looking for an experienced leader who can demonstrate the following:
Commitment to embedding matauranga Maori in all aspects of community services
Sound cross-cultural competency and ability to engage and adapt approaches to intercultural contexts
Proven leadership capabilities and political acumen in developing and inspiring others
Fostering collaboration and building strong relationships
Knowledge of customer-centric design thinking and service innovation
Experience in leading distributed teams, managing stakeholders, planning, and budgeting

This role is a band J, we are expecting to appoint the successful applicant at a salary of between $145- $155k per annum, depending upon experience.
