Kaitohutohu | Advisor - Adaptation Systems Policy | FlexibleThe Adaptation Systems team works in an exciting and engaging policy area at the forefront of adaptation policy. We are responsible for developing policy and providing advice on the roles and responsibilities of different actors within the adaptation system. As part of this, we are working on developing an Adaptation Framework. Our team will have a key role in the design of any legislation.
As an advisor within our team, you will be: drafting advice for ministers; undertaking policy analysis; learning about the issues around adaptation; and working with a team of capable and experienced seniors to grow your understanding of the policy craft.
The key deliverables are outlined in the attached position description.
Key Skills RequiredPossesses strong written and oral communication skills.Able to summarise and analyse diverse pieces of information.Has a can-do attitude and ability to work in a team.Open to developing in the role and eager to learn.Capable of liaising and collaborating with policy experts and subject matter experts across the Ministry.Experience or expertise in economic or regulatory policy a plus.Additional Skill SetsExperience applying the fundamentals of good quality policy analysis to determine what to advise decision makers.Any background in environmental policy.Experience applying a range of analytical frameworks and tools to help you identify, analyse and make sense of evidence.Demonstrated ability to develop policy proposals that comply with the Treaty and Treaty settlement commitments.Salary range for this role is $79,598 to $96,372 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
