Intermediate Consent Planner

We are looking for an Intermediate Consent Planner to join our Resource Consents team.
Our Resource Consents team helps make development happen across the city by processing resource consents and other approvals for proposals that don't meet rules in the District Plan.
The purpose of the role is to manage the processing of a range of resource consent applications, both land use and subdivision, and to provide expertise on matters under the Resource Management Act and related legislation.
In this role, you will: Manage and process resource consents workload in accordance with the RMA and other relevant legislation. These applications will be from mum-and-dad additions and alterations to complex large-scale subdivisions, to high-rise buildings within the CBD.
Manage your workload which will often have competing priorities.
Prepare and present evidence to Hearing Commissioners, High Court, and Environment Court as appropriate.
Review your own work and peer review that of others.
Work in partnership with the applicant to assist in navigating the process.
About you: You'll bring a relevant tertiary degree in planning, resource management, surveying, or equivalent along with proven experience in planning or resource consents.
2-3 years' experience in a consent planner role.
Excellent communication skills and be comfortable with public speaking.
Strong relationship management with a customer focus.
Be able to demonstrate sound decision-making and be confident in backing your expertise.
Must be adaptable and work to a timeframe with managing multiple priorities.
