This position combines twoessential roles: Kaiako Te Ara Reo Maori and Kaiawhina.In this role, you will be responsible for providing cover when a teammember is unable to work due to illness or other reasons.
This may involvereceiving a call either in the morning or the previous evening to cover a fullday or specific class.
Additionally, you'll be involved in managing plannedleave.
Prior to the leave period, you'll have the opportunity to indicate ifyou are available for all, part of or none of the time and we will worktogether to finalise arrangements.As a Kaiawhina you will support our Kaiako indelivering our Te Ara Reo Maori programme within a proactive, supportive, andwhanau-based environment.
This role also assists the Kaiako in preparingresources and classrooms, monitoring student attendance, supporting tauiralearning, administration tasks and student recruitmentAs a Kaiako you will deliver our Te Ara ReoMaori programme using the Ako Whakatere methodology and techniques.
Flexibilityto work some weekends and evenings may be required.Mou | About youThe ideal person for this role is a passionate and adaptable individualwith a strong commitment to Maori education and the ability to thrive in bothteaching and support roles.You will also bring with you:The ability to converse in Te Reo Maori.A Diploma Te Reo Maori or a higherqualificationNew Zealand Certificate in Adult TertiaryTeaching (NZCATT L5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete this during theirfirst year of employmentLevel 4 Te Reo or Tikanga qualificationsare advantageous.Full and current New Zealand Driver'sLicenseExperience teaching Te Reo MaoriExperience with Ako whakatere methods ofteaching, learning and deliveryProven adult teaching experienceCompetency in navigating e-learningmethods of delivery and systems.Confident using Microsoft software.Asa kaupapa Maori organisation, your willingness to participate in culturalactivities and develop an understanding of Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture andtikanga) will be key.Tonoa i tenei ra!
