We promote advocacy and education for justice in New Zealand and Oceania, and we play an integral part in the worldwide Caritas network of over 160 relief, development, and social service organisations.Reporting to the Head of International Development and Humanitarian Programmes, the purpose of the International Programmes Lead is to plan, develop and lead the end-to-end delivery of CANZ international development programmes ensuring coherence and alignment with standards, regulatory requirements, and approaches across all programmes.
The role is also accountable for forging multi-stakeholder partnerships within the regions of responsibility with the Catholic Church, Caritas agencies, funding partners and removing obstacles to resource mobilization and multi-stakeholder funding platforms.The International Programmes Lead will be the domain area expert for international development, climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The role will share learning across programmes, teams, and partners to improve the quality of the design and delivery of all international development programmes.Key responsibilitiesLead the effective design, management, implementation, and monitoring of CANZ international development programmes ensuring timely & high-quality delivery.Strategically engage with partners to develop international programme and project proposals and funding applications, assessing and developing strategies to mitigate programme risks and manage the required capacities to deliver the work.Ensure joint responsibility with partners for the effective implementation, monitoring, evaluation (including facilitating external evaluations) and reporting on international development programmes, in line with jointly agreed shared vision and standards (programme cycle management) and funder requirements.With the Head of International Development and Humanitarian Programmes, lead the development and coordination of CANZ Partnership and Engagement plan, driving its successful implementation.Manage contract tendering for large international development programmes.Mo te Kaitono | About You:The ideal applicant will hold a relevant post-graduate tertiary qualification in international development, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field and will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in programme management, project management, or in a similar role, preferably within a non-profit or international development organisation.
MERL experience, combined with evaluation experience in support of international development and humanitarian programmes is desirable.An understanding and affinity with the mission of Caritas is advantageous, as is an awareness of the principles of te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Reo Maori and Tikanga Maori.This is a highly rewarding and challenging role protecting the dignity of marginalised people and ensuring that Caritas Aotearoa New Zealand has a positive impact on the lives of the most vulnerable.
