About this work area As an Interior Design Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Coaching and mentoring your Interior Design team through setting clear expectations, direction and follow up.
Contributing to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in the market.
Gathering and translating insights from home visits into locally relevant, functional, aesthetic and commercial home furnishing solutions that exceed customer expectations and reflect home furnishing the IKEA way.
Applying your extensive home furnishing knowledge to create up-to-date room settings and other media, thereby creating vitality throughout the IKEA New Zealand Market.
Using the richness of the IKEA product range to show distinct and different styles that appeal to many individual tastes and needs.
Reflecting the IKEA identity and creating visual impact in all commercial, sales support and co-worker areas.
Being a key contributor to the successful implementation of IKEA concept review and retail topic reviews.
Securing the use of the store layout as a commercial tool to plan and implement commercial strategies throughout the market while creating a natural & commercial flow for our visitors, with a strong visual impact.
Supporting your leadership team in managing the recruitment, retention, performance management, succession planning and competence development of the team.
A little more about the job We may be experts in flatpacks, but it is your expertise in the following we are looking for: 3-5 years' experience in an interior design role within a large retail organisation, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role.
Highly regarded to have experience in design software, Revit.
Excellent communication skills, and ability to inspire, coach and develop people and secure succession to bring together a high performing team that can contribute to business goals.
Cultural competency and the ability to integrate equality, diversity, and inclusion practices within a workplace.
What you need to know This role is permanent full time.
The salary range for this position is $95,000 – $110,000 gross New Zealand dollars, not including superannuation/pension.
The work location for this role is IKEA Sylvia Park and external warehouse.
As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster.
You also have the availability to work one weekend shift per month (both Saturday and Sunday).
As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.
