Nga korero mo te turanga – About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Information Management, you will be involved in developing and delivering a range of initiatives, in line with policy and strategy, to provide records management solutions and services for the University of Waikato. You will use your specialist knowledge and strong customer focus to provide tailored advice and training, and to promote good records management throughout the organisation, thereby helping to develop the University's information and records management maturity.
A key focus of your role will be digital information and records management. Using your knowledge of Microsoft 365 you will assist in the development of processes for automated disposal of digital information and records, including staff training.
This is a full-time permanent role based at our Hillcrest campus. However, we are willing to consider applications to work a minimum of 0.8FTE. Salary will be in the range $82,4795 to $94,891 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. While there is an expectation for staff to be onsite at certain times, there is support for flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

With skills and knowledge from working in an information and records management environment you will be confident in contributing to initiatives that will support the University to develop its information management maturity and meet its Public Records Act 2005 obligations.
Your highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, together with an ability to build and maintain constructive relationships, will give you the confidence to initiate discussions about, and to support University staff with, information and records management.
You will be extremely agile in your approach to your mahi, being able to work across a broad range of tasks within a team environment, while also having a significant degree of independence. Your strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities will be key assets when supporting the delivery of user-centric information and records management solutions and services.
Your high level of computer literacy, including a strong familiarity with M365 applications, and your ability to manually handle boxes and work with physical records that are dirty and dusty, will ensure your confidence when supporting the management of information and records in all formats.

The University Library | Te Iho o Te Manawataki o Te Whare Wananga o Waikato is an inspirational and innovative academic library situated in the heart of the campus in Te Manawa (the Student Centre) in Hamilton. The University also has a Tauranga Campus and global partnerships in a number of countries all of which are supported by the Library.
Although based in the Library, the Information and Records Management Team engages with staff, organisation-wide, to ensure the University manages its data, information, and records effectively and efficiently to meet business and legal requirements. Information and records underpin all university activities and are critical to the delivery of core business. By holistically supporting University staff to create, maintain, and dispose of its information assets in line with legal requirements and organisational policy, the Information and Records Management team supports operational efficiency and risk mitigation as well as the preservation of the University's corporate history.
