About the company The Kaupapa Maori trust is an integral part of the community they work in – they make a real difference to people's lives.  They support whanau and vulnerable individuals within the community by providing high quality social services.  About the role You will report to the Tumu Whakarae – CEO.  This is a role that you will own, they have not had HR in the organisation previously.  You will manage team of 4 people, that are HR coordinators/admin support.  As this is a small organisation, you will be required to work with the team to get the work done.        Duties Create people strategies with a Te Ao Maori view. Prioritise the wellbeing and safety of the staff Create HR Framework, and build and maintain policies and procedures Manage auditing process Create recruitment strategy to hire the right people for the roles Ensure engagement strategies are put in place Lead employee relations conversations Coach and develop leadership team   Skills and experience This role requires you to be multi skilled.  You will have experience in working in a Kaupapa Maori organisation, where your people strategies align with Te Ao Maori.   You will be an experienced HR generalist who has created policies and procedures.  Ideally you would have worked in a Kaupapa Maori trust previously and understand how government funding works. HR Degree Knowledge, understanding and respect of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Maori. Understand how to incorporate tikanga into people strategies and practice. Experience in a senior HR position, with a deep knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation. Strong leadership and team management capabilities, emphasising the development of cohesive and collaborative teams. Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving skills, proven ability to align HR strategies with overall business objectives.   Culture This is an already established team, you are working for a great leader who has ambitious plans for the Trust.
