They are currently seeking the services of a very hands-on, visible HSE Officer to lead the HSE function across their Otahuhu based manufacturing site.

The Role: Establish, implement, and maintain a site HSE management system, with relevant documented policies and procedures.
Ensure all staff are aware of their safety accountabilities and responsibilities.
Advise, guide and coach site team on all matters relating to health and safety.
Identify HSE related hazards and risks, implement risk mitigation strategies and monitor outcomes.
Investigate and report on any injury or incidents, and any near misses.
Identify actions and make appropriate recommendations for improvements.
Monitor all corrective actions and opportunities for improvement for effectiveness.
Ensure Injury Management, ACC, and Return to Work programs are managed effectively.
Plan and organize regular emergency exercises, including joint exercises with external emergency services.
Administer the Employee Health program, coordinating the services of the onsite Physio, as well as pre-employment medicals, drug, and alcohol testing.
Act as site representative and provide updates on biweekly regional HSE meetings.
Conduct regular internal audits to verify compliance with procedures and administer corrective action plans where applicable.
About You: Relevant 2-3 years relevant HSE management experience in a manufacturing/site environment.
Preferably with experience in Food or Pharmaceuticals manufacturing environment.
Strong engagement influencing and coaching skills.
Success with promoting change and driving continuous improvement in HSE performance.
Ability to influence outcomes with managers and staff at all levels of the business.
Experience in undertaking workplace investigations.
Committed to achieving objectives.
Knowledge of the Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Protection Laws & Regulations.
Experienced with compliance audits and HSE management systems.
