As the Head of Sustainability and Innovation, you will influence the future of water services delivery across Auckland, focusing on the delivery of sustainable outcomes for Watercare and for Aucklanders across Tamaki Makaurau. Reporting to the Chief Strategy and Planning Officer, this role is responsible for developing and driving the integration of Watercare's sustainability, innovation and asset lifecycle focused strategies and ensuring their application into all aspects of our business. You will lead the disciplines necessary to deliver efficient geospatial data & asset information and electrical systems planning. These functions combined, driven towards achieving effective and sustainable water services. Your responsibilities will include: Securing our sustainability roadmap and ensuring that it is embedded in and owned by each individual in our business. Establishing our technology and innovation focused framework, implementing a business-wide innovation assessment approach and delivering technology testing for potential future integration in our water services delivery strategies. Overseeing the development, implementation, and ongoing management of Watercare's Asset Lifecycle/Management Framework. Leading Watercare's geospatial and asset information management approach and delivery of services to the broader business. Supporting the Electrical and Control Systems planning team to provide electrical expertise to support efficient and effective infrastructure delivery. You are a people leader with highly developed facilitation, problem-solving and influencing skills coupled with the ability to work with all facets of the business and external stakeholders. Primarily you are able to make things happen - you can drive work efficiently and effectively. Your background will include: Extensive experience in sustainability/asset lifecycle and innovation management. Experience influencing senior leaders. Experience in climate change action. Strong background in sustainability, a passion for innovation and asset lifecycle practices, and the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Knowledge and experience in the New Zealand sustainability context is preferred, as is knowledge of the water sector and Watercare processes.
