Permanent full time | Wellington based We currently have an opportunity to join our People and Culture Branch as Head of People and Culture, partnering with MBIE's Immigration New Zealand (INZ) business group.
INZ's core role is to grant visas to the people Aotearoa New Zealand needs to work, visit, study, or settle here, ensure that people crossing the border and staying in Aotearoa New Zealand are entitled to do so, INZ helps migrants and refugees make Aotearoa New Zealand their home and plays their part in the global immigration system, together with our border partners, to keep Aotearoa New Zealand safe.
You will be a natural relationship builder and trusted advisor to work in partnership with the Deputy Secretary and senior managers ensuring the groups people plans meet strategic and business objectives.
This is a great opportunity which will provide you the opportunity to: Partner with senior managers and leaders in a portfolio where the work is interesting, varied, and challenging Lead a small team of HR generalists Contribute to the overall effectiveness and impact of our People and Culture branch and the delivery of great people experiences for our kaimahi Work in a flexible and inclusive work environment Contribute to public service wide initiatives Nga pukenga me nga wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required As a Head of People and Culture, you will be culturally competent and confident in engaging in both strategic and tactical conversations to uncover needs and associated actions.
You will provide advice and guidance to senior managers and leaders that is both practical and robust.
Specifically, we are looking for someone who has: Strategic HR Business partnering experience, preferable in a large professional services context A reputation for and practical understanding of manaakitanga A breadth of knowledge across all HR disciplines including leadership development, change management, organisational design, and culture change Previous experience in leading a team An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) and awareness of the obligations and responsibilities to address wellbeing inequalities for Maori within organisational systems and processes.
