Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity One of three newly established HR Business Partnering positions, the roles provide strategic and operational advice and support to the respective business units and people leaders to drive organisational people performance.
Reporting to the Group General Manager Human Resources (Chief People Office equivalent), we are looking for a highly skilled commercial practitioner who is passionate about the power of people to fill the Head of Business Partnering – Corporate (12 Month Fixed Term) position.
The Corporate portfolio includes four Group General Managers, responsible for the following functions: Commercial and Corporate System Leadership Engagement and Partnerships People, Culture and Safety The Head of Business Partnering will play a crucial role in aligning organisational business strategies with people goals and will work closely with multiple senior leaders to ensure the business meets its objectives.
You will have proven strength in strategic business partnering and have strong commercial experience.
You'll also have worked at a senior level, developing strategic business plans and designing and implementing change activity to meet the needs of the business group you are supporting.
Talent management will also be a key responsibility of these roles along with providing a top level of coaching and development support.
You will lead a team of HR professionals, enabling them to successfully deliver on their business plans.
You will provide your team with guidance and support to successfully work in a matrixed model and ensure that the team develops and delivers the most effective HR solutions for the organisation.
You will also ensure that your team keeps up to date on trends in best practice and legislative changes as relevant.
This role will also contribute to, drive and execute the People strategic agenda and build world class HR capability for the organisation.
Ko koe tenei | About you Knowledge and experience: Extensive HR experience within fast moving, complex and demanding environments where HR issues have to be handled on a large scale.
Experience of developing and implementing comprehensive commercial strategic business plans aligned to business objectives, particularly in a fiscally constrained environment.
A proven track record of successfully partnering with executives, senior leaders and teams and demonstrated experience aligning HR strategies to commercial needs.
Experience in credibly engaging and influencing senior business leaders is critical.
Understanding the financial implications of alternative HR solutions is also important.
Demonstrated ability to be a "critical friend" to the Group General Managers who you support.
Able to demonstrate up to date knowledge of theory and best practice in employment relations, bargaining strategies and employee value proposition.
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori.
You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation.
Qualifications: Tertiary qualification in business, Human Resources or related discipline, or significant relevant practical experience in a similar role.
Extensive experience in HR business partnering at the executive level, with a proven track record of strong HR generalist skill set.
