Te turanga | The role: Head of Financial Risk Reporting to the GM - Risk within Business and Corporate Banking, you will be responsible for leading the financial risk functions for Business Banking and Corporate banking.
As a critical component of the business, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of the Credit and Market Risk strategy in addition to ongoing review of the risk appetite to support the division lending growth.
Your key focus will be to develop and oversee credit risk frameworks to ensure adherence to professional ethics, bank policies and compliance with NZ and Australian regulatory requirements. This includes advice to frontline teams and management, development and implementation of assurance programs, governance, training and awareness, and simplifying lending processes for the frontline teams across the division.
We're looking for a strong implementer and strategic thinker who is able to provide thought leadership and drive success. To succeed in this role it is vital that you have broad business and/or risk management experience with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of credit risk, an exceptional ability to prioritise and problem solve together with experience in managing and motivating a team. You'll have outstanding interpersonal savvy and the ability to influence across functional lines.
Naturally calm under pressure, you will be respected for your exceptional stakeholder management and ability to develop high performing teams. You should have proven success in translating complex information into understandable and compelling executive level presentations.
