Position Summary: This position is concerned with the overall operation and control of the Housekeeping Department in compliance with the established Housekeeping Policy and practices of Four Points by Sheraton Auckland and Marriott International. As the Head Housekeeper, your role will focus on supporting the hardworking housekeeping team and managing the day-to-day operations of the department. With support from the Rooms Division Manager and Executive Assistant Manager, you will execute and maintain the departmental standards and objectives.
Supervise housekeeping measures which serve the health and safety of personnel and guests, such as administration of the lost property office, key control, safety and security and emergency measures.Roster employees in housekeeping department on a fortnightly basis, 4 weeks in advance, and organise cover on an emergency or sick call basis.Supervise and manage employees. Manage all day-to-day operations. Understand employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence.Display Work Environmentally Awareness according to Marriott International.Assist Rooms Division Manager in setting and executing departmental objectives, policies, procedures by establishing teamwork and team spirit.Coordinate and deliver the departmental skills training programs, follow up on the action plans prepared for departmental trainings and ensure all team members' training is up to date.Adhere to the policies and procedures in drawing up training programs, work schedules, division of associates' time and any type of holiday planning.Pass on information on housekeeping matters to other departments, in particular to the Engineering Department, Front Office and F & B outlets.Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently, disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPS) and support the Peer Review Process.Comply with the Health & Safety policy statement, H&S policies and procedures and the relevant H&S Business Plan by working in a safe manner, providing a safe workplace to all employees and using protective/safety equipment wherever provided and required.About You: Current and valid working rights in New Zealand.Proven experience leading medium to large teams in housekeeping or a related field, preferably in a supervisory role.Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemical handling procedures.Excellent organisational and time management skills.Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of cleanliness standards.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and interact with guests.Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and housekeeping management systems.Knowledge of safety and security protocols within the hospitality industry.Our Benefits: Exclusive staff discounts on food and beverage and hotel rooms (including all properties within the Marriott International group) for you, your family and friends.Be part of Life with the Works program where you can enjoy flexible working hours & locations, time off to pursue your passion through sabbatical leave, and paid leave during your birthday month.Grow, develop, and progress with internationally recognised training programs, unlimited strategic development and exciting career opportunities within the Marriott International group.Free onsite gym access on your shift days.Genuine care for associates' physical, emotional and financial wellbeing through our Employee Assistance Program.Opportunity to receive Employee Referral Incentives and get paid for working with your friend.Work for the Largest Hotel Network in the World which values equality, diversity and inclusiveness.As a Head Housekeeper, you will contribute to creating a positive guest experience by maintaining a clean and comfortable environment.
