This 15-acre haven provides a tranquil atmosphere, perfect for guests seeking relaxation.The lodge's Restaurant boasts breathtaking views over the farmland and towards Lake Rotorua, making it an ideal spot to witness the sunrise.We are seeking an experienced Head Chef or Sous Chef to join our team in a full-time position.
The successful candidate will receive free accommodation on-site.Responsibilities:Lead kitchen employees through effective rostering, training, coaching, evaluation, and hiring.Collaborate with Food & Beverage and Front Office to ensure seamless coordination and execution of food service and events.Develop menus featuring the latest trends and international flavors, showcasing a fusion of culinary expertise.Maintain high standards of presentation, appearance, and quality for all foods served to guests.Encourage team retention and development through comprehensive training, succession planning, and multi-skilling.Ensure efficient food inventory practices through proper storage, stock rotation, and purchasing.Identify potential risks and take immediate action to resolve them.Monitor and control departmental expenditures to maintain operational standards while adhering to annual budget guidelines.Plan and manage the procurement, production, preparation, and presentation of all food in the hotel in a safe, sanitary, and cost-effective manner.Possess excellent organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making capacity.Remain composed and objective under pressure.Understand current Health & Safety obligations and ensure the Kitchen is fully compliant with SOPs, Policies, procedures, and service standards.Perform peak meal periods efficiently by maintaining a 'hands-on' approach.Assist with guest inquiries as needed.Requirements:2 years of experience as Head Chef or Sous Chef.Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent qualification.Current Food Safety Handling Certificate.Hotel Industry knowledge is highly desirable.Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and food safety software.Estimated Salary: NZD $80,000 - $120,000 per annum
