Ko waikoe| About You Our ClinicalHaematology service comprises of several sub-specialities, including a ClinicalTrials Unit, with particular interest in areas of blood cancers, haemostasis,and supportive care. The unit has an excellent reputation which continues togrow, with an opportunity to be involved in the South Islands first CAR-Tclinical trial. The service is seeking a Senior Registrar to join the researchteam for a period of 12 months. The successful applicant will workclosely with our Clinical Trials team in performing Sponsor and Investigatorinitiated research and conducting clinical consultations. Currently we haveover 12 active clinical trials.
There isalso an opportunity to work in support of the other Registrars in support ofthe wider Haematology service.
This is a fixed-term position from the 27th January 2025 - 25th January 2026You will have experience ina number of hospital departments including Haematology.An understanding andinterest in clinical trials / research in order to act as asub-investigator and or Principal Investigator covering;Medicalsupervision and management of patients with malignant blood disorders onclinical trials, in consultation with the treating consultant.Ensure that clinical trialsare conducted according to International Conference on Harmonisation(ICH) regulatory authorities' requirements, and any other local policyrequirements.Perform patient requiredprotocol visits, including clinical assessments and results interpretation.Implement clinical trialprotocols and liaise with key study and medical personnel and sponsors.Extensiveinteraction with the other members of the Clinical Trials Unit.Attendanceat outpatient clinics, haematology research and multidisciplinary teammeetingsKeep accurate records andmaintain them for as long as the protocol dictates.Ensure serious adverseevents are reported immediately.Educate and inform patientsand their support-persons, of clinical trials and the experimental natureof the drug products.Knowledge and commitment ofTe Tiriti o Waitangi and how the principles can be applied to health.A willingness to grow andfurther develop an equity lens and skillset, both to assist Maori andminority groups.You must be eligible forgeneral or provisional general registration with the Medical Council ofNew Zealand.
