Group Manager: Conservation Project DeliveryForest & Bird is Aotearoa's leading independent conservation organisation. They are nature's voice and work to defend nature – across our Land, Fresh Water, Oceans, and Climate and Economy.You will initiate, support, and deliver conservation projects that highlight the Society's positive impact on nature, and ensure that they are building credibility, through consistent delivery at different scales.Projects include national flagship projects such as Ark in the Park in the Waitakere Ranges, Te Hoiere Bat Recovery Project in Marlborough, and Tautuku Restoration Project in South Otago, as well as community projects.You will ensure projects are set up for success by taking a disciplined planning approach, and developing robust processes to monitor conservation project performance and compliance, against appropriate best practice standards.Key to your success in this role will be your leadership and relationship management skills, including experience in leading multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teams, coupled with sound project management capabilities.Person profile:Demonstrated experience in managing projects and delivering resultsExperience in leading multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed teamsKnowledge of practical conservation issues and practicesOutstanding communication, negotiation and influencing skillsProven track record developing, tracking and administering operational budgets within sound fiscal boundariesKnowledge of standard operating procedures in conservation practicesAn understanding of volunteering and/or member-based organisations would be advantageousDemonstrable commitment to teamwork and working with other groups and teams to achieve shared goalsApplications to: Nikki Walshaw via mclaren.co.nzPosition description: Available to view at mclaren.co.nz
