The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Hastings-based team as a Graphic Designer on a fixed-term basis. This role is to provide maternity leave cover, with an ideal commencement date of approximately mid-February 2025 with a duration of 7 months. This is a part-time role, working 32 hours per week.
The primary purpose of Graphic Designer is to:
Provide an efficient and effective desktop publishing / graphic design service to support the creation of professional publications and documents;
Assist in maintaining a standardised corporate brand within Unison, publish information, provide quality assurance and manage the company intranet and internet presence.
Key Responsibilities include:
Undertake high-standard computer-based graphical design work in a flexible working environment.
Design and produce visual materials such as posters, corporate documents, image material, logos, and other publications.
Assist internal Unison business groups with the graphics component of multimedia communications and presentations.
Develop and maintain the Unison internet/intranet sites and make recommendations on web-based applications.
Liaise with design agencies, photographers, printers, and other vendors to ensure consistent Unison branding across all company marketing and communications activities.
Maintain and liaise with all internal Unison business groups to control design standards across the organization.
Assist with the development, roll-out, and maintenance of a web communications strategy to internal and external stakeholders.
What We Are Looking For:
A tertiary qualification in Graphic Design.
Preference for at least 3-5 years of postgraduate experience in a design or sole charge production environment.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Experience in website development and web design.
Knowledge of digital, offset, and screen-printing technologies.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong time management skills to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate initiative.
