About the role Based in our Auckland Head Office and Design Centre in East Tamaki, the Global Category Manager (GCM) position opportunity is best suited to a creative-thinking procurement professional who has strong commercial acumen, comfortable challenging the status quo and a natural ability to lead and drive value creation across a complex Stakeholder network. Tasked with extracting the best possible value from our global spend, this diverse role will incorporate working closely with the business in various countries around the world to understand needs and develop joint regional and global category strategies and planning across our Indirect portfolio, as well as supplier relationship management and leadership of cross-functional stakeholder groups. Reporting to the Indirect Procurement Manager, the GCM will: Lead collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure supplier qualification process is rigorous and best value supplier solutions is selected.Lead, create and maintain visible Category strategies aligned to business requirements.Lead and manage commercial Supplier relationships for the Category.Conduct category benchmarking exercises and present findings and strategies to key stakeholders up as far as C-Suite.Partner with key stakeholders in providing commercial support. This is where you come in You will be an experienced leader with a minimum of 5 years proven in-depth procurement experience with: Strong business acumen and commercial skills with a demonstrated knowledge of supply chain concepts and metrics.Superb stakeholder management and influencing skills.Being adaptable and comfortable under pressure; able to effectively cope with change and 'shift gears' easily.Being self-starting and delivery-focused; naturally curious with a high measure of drive, energy, and engagement.Being skilled in creating should be costing scenarios and selling ideas to senior leaders.A tertiary qualification ideally in Supply Chain, Procurement or Logistics is desirable.
