About the role | Ko te mahi nei As an Intermediate Software Engineer - Spatial you will work alongside other GIS experts to deliver excellent spatial solutions for Council. You will enjoy working hands-on with spatial development, integrations, 3D and mobile initiatives. This role works within our large and diverse Digital Unit and collaborates across the various Council business units. We're looking for someone with: Experience with ESRI Enterprise Portal or ArcGIS Online (AGOL). Strong SQL expertise to manage spatial data and write optimized queries. Experience with spatial data integration and ETL tools, such as FME, to streamline data workflows. Knowledge of geospatial web services, such as REST APIs, for seamless integration of spatial data with other systems. Familiarity with mobile GIS tools and applications, such as ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Collector, and QuickCapture, to support efficient field data collection. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and solve issues. The ability to work with senior software engineers to implement initiatives to continuously improve the design and development process. You will have: Degree in Information Management or Computer Science or Graduate Diploma in ICT (NZQA Level 7). Minimum 5 years' experience in a GIS (Geographic Information System) related position. Proven expertise with geospatial technologies, including experience in both web-based and desktop GIS solutions. Strong SQL skills, including experience with data modelling, spatial queries, and database optimisation. Experience with industry-standard GIS tools such as ESRI ArcGIS Suite, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Online. What's in it for you? I He aha nga hua ki a koe? Hours of work: 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday with some out of hours work required occasionally. Location: This position is primarily based at Te Hononga Civic Offices, 53 Hereford. Salary: The salary band for this position goes from $93,200 to $103,556 per annum based on a 40 hour working week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
