In December 2022, the Ngati Kahungunu ki Wairarapa Tamaki Nui-a-Rua Claims Settlement Bill passed its third and final reading in Parliament.
These were momentous occasions for the people ofNgati Kahungunu ki Wairarapa Tamaki Nui-a-Rua.
That led to the establishment of the Investment Trust by the Settlement Trust.
The Investment Trust is dedicated to creating a reliable revenue stream through a low-risk strategy to grow their assets over time and generate income to fund the administration costs and distributions to the Settlement Trust.
About the Role With oversight from the Board and support from the staff team, the General Manager will lead the Investment Trust's strategy and revenue investment growth.
The General Manager will also develop the capability of the organisation to meet its requirements, manage administration, provide excellent advice and reporting to the Board including on risk, and oversee the management of Trust assets and optimising of returns.
The General Manager will also ensure compliance to the Trust Deed.
The role is titled General Manager, with delegations from the Investment Trust typical of a Chief Executive role.You will be required to work collaboratively with the Settlement Trust's Group Chief Executive.
It is based in Masterton, but there can be flexibility in location, however it is a role where presence in-community and with whanau is very important.
About You Given the importance of this role in a new Settlement, you will be a person who gives us confidence in your track-record of being able to grow the commercial base of our Trust with sound judgement and commercial astuteness.
This is a role for a sound financial manager who is very structured in the ability to analyse performance and exercise due diligence on new opportunities, and the performance of existing.
Your drive will be balanced by the understanding of the need for sustainable approaches to the development of the iwi and an ability to relate to whanau.
