The General Manager's principal task is the day-to-day leadership and management of business services (its activity and cost centres).
This is a new role to bring four regional teams (Otago, Southland, Waitaki and Central Otago) into a cohesive and functional team under a shared management structure informed by an agreed strategic plan.
The position requires strong leadership and management skills.
It also requires a strong commitment to deliver equitable and appropriate services to all communities in the identified regions and where able, to improve on current service delivery levels.
The GM ideally will be based in Invercargill, but there are options to deliver this over a hybrid model.
To be successful you will need: Significant experience in an appropriate and relevant environment at a similar level.
Leadership and management skills.
Commercial acumen and a highly developed customer service approach.
Proven experience in strategic and operational planning.
Excellent relationship management skills.
An ability to think "outside the square" to produce innovative solutions to service and business problems.
Well-developed negotiation skills.
Experience in setting and monitoring budgets.
