The Opportunity
Europe is a key segment for LIC's International business. As our General Manager Europe, you will be responsible for embedding a solutions focused approach to sales for our UK and Ireland based subsidiaries, and our continental markets to enable growth. You will lead a passionate team and have an ability to influence key stakeholders in the wider dairy industry. This team has 5 direct reports in the UK and Ireland and the potential to add to the team as the region needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership: Cultivating a high-performance culture that unites teams and encourages collaboration.
Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing the regional Europe strategy in alignment with overall business strategy.
Innovation and Growth: Develop and maintain a wide variety of internal and external business relationships in order to support the growth strategy of the LIC European business. Explore and support new product and services that are applicable to the European market.
Stakeholder Engagement: Lead the strategic and operational relationships for in-market partners, including Eurogene Ai Services Ltd in Ireland and Cogent Breeding Ltd in the UK and various distributors in continental Europe.
LIC Brand: Protect and represent the LIC brand in-market to ensure the value proposition is well represented.
Oversee our bull breeding programme based in Ireland to ensure strategic fit and sales growth.
This role reports into the GM Commercial and is part of the Commercial lead team. The Commercial team is responsible for all of LIC's international businesses, including Beacon, a leading heat detection business, dairy development (working with philanthropic organisations in developing markets), and the corporate development and innovation scouting/sourcing and partnering function for LIC.
About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will have demonstrated experience in a business environment or leadership role along with strong skills in delivering on strategy, critical thinking, financial acumen, and sales/marketing experience. You will ideally need to have a strong understanding of European markets, the genetics industry, and the dairy industry.
You will need to have eligibility to live and work in Europe.
The role will involve extensive travel within Europe and less frequently to NZ.
