Auckland Council's Recovery Office has an opportunity for a fixed term full time Funding Specialist to join the team until September 2025. This role will report directly to the Head of Homes and Houses Recovery team.
The purpose of this role is to manage the stakeholder relationships for category 2P grants process for our weather affected homeowners; enabling Tamaki Makaurau to recover from the devastating effects of Cyclone Gabrielle.
You will be responsible for budgeting funds for the program, approving grant applications, and overseeing the disbursement of grant funds. You will ensure all processes and procedures adhere to the relevant regulations and guidelines.
You could expect to work on:
Direct engagement with Homeowners, stakeholders and subject matter expertsMonitoring and reporting the progress and finance status of the schemeBudget Management and financial delegation of circa $50m+ programme of worksMaintain accurate records of all applications, grants, and project outcomesWe are looking for someone who is deeply committed to the recovery efforts for Tamaki Makaurau.
This role requires strong relationship management skills to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of partners and vendors such as homeowners, technical experts, and senior leadership. You will manage the communication between all stakeholders and monitor the progress of each application and project to identify potential issues.
You will be adept at managing substantial budgets for large complex programmes of work. To be successful in this role you will be well versed in key legislation, policy and process relevant to the application and approval of the grant scheme.
We are specifically looking for:
Extensive experience in grants database managementExperience writing and reviewing technical or political reports that can be understood by a range of audiencesUnderstanding of the land development, infrastructure, social and natural environment issues and challenges relating to RecoveryEhara taku toa, he takitahi, he toa takitini My success is not mine alone, but the success of many.
