FILE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT OFFICER

We are looking for File Management Support Officers (FMSO) to join our Public Counter team and play their part in keeping New Zealanders safe.

Based at Counties Manukau Police Station
Permanent/Full time Shift Work
Remuneration: $63,526 per annum
Attractive Shift Work Incentives
Experience at a good level in computer skills is required
Multiple positions available
Intake date commences 13th March 2025 – you must be available to start on this date
The first 12 weeks will consist of both training at the Royal New Zealand Police College in Wellington and in Auckland. You must be able to attend training in Wellington for 2 weeks from the start date, you will then return to Auckland for 9 weeks and back to Wellington on the 12th week for one week of training (travel expenses covered by NZ Police).
You will be required to undergo a psychometric test as part of the recruitment process.

Based at the Public Counter, these roles are pivotal to the efficient and effective delivery of service to members of the public needing assistance. Every day you will be dealing with challenging situations which will need to be approached with professionalism, respect, and empathy. You will be welcoming customers into the station and ensuring their enquiries are understood, recorded, and handled appropriately.
To support Police staff, you will also receive exhibits, create charges for Court appearances, order supplies, manage courier deliveries, and act as a general font of knowledge. The successful applicant must have sound computer skills and ability to learn new systems and applications.
It's a challenging, interesting, and very important role; you would be recording data, establishing details, and efficiently managing information in real time.
Quite simply, you would be our digital paperwork superheroes, with some of the key accountabilities as below:

Dealing with challenging circumstances in a customer services environment.
Assessing information received from members of the public and recording it accurately, to support assessment and investigation decisions.
Reviewing incident and offence reports from Constabulary staff around the country and providing feedback when required.
Releasing critical information to other Government agencies.
Managing conflicting demands by working collaboratively with regionally based teams.

Shift work details:
Our Public Counter team at Counties Manukau District Headquarters operates 24/7 on a six on four off roster, including night shifts. The roster pattern is two early shifts (0600hrs – 1500hrs), two late shifts (1200hrs – 2200hrs), two night shifts (2100hrs – 0630hrs), followed by four days off.
