Put simply, sustainability is what we do.Job DescriptionWe have an exciting new opportunity for a Factory Manager, responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient operation of a new plastics reprocessing facility being established in Auckland under a contract operating agreement. This role will also be responsible for health & safety, production, human resource management, project management, transportation, plant and infrastructure, export logistics along with adherence to any related regulatory compliance.About the roleReporting to the National Processing Manager, you will work with Shift Supervisors and Maintenance Contractors to oversee and ensure the site is well-equipped and maintained at all times. You will also liaise with external stakeholders like customers, contractors, and vendors. This role will develop and maintain a high-performing team-based culture along with identifying recruitment needs, conducting performance reviews, and identifying employee training and development needs.This role will include:Manage multiple tasks within the dynamic environment of process plant commissioning.Give direction and guidance to the operational staff including the development of production plans to ensure the best utilization of production facilities.Develop, review and update SOPs for plant operation and training.Set and review productivity targets for all areas of production occurring on site.Liaise with the maintenance team to plan for any identified maintenance repairs that could impact production.Ensure delivery of the company's vision with respect to HSEQ standards, behaviours, and performance.Drive processes regarding risk management compliance and internal controls to ensure operations and legal HSEQ risks are effectively managed and minimized.Convey the company's and sustainability visions, promote and support Community, Customer, People, and business initiatives.Develop strategies, plans, and allocate resources to ensure corporate governance.Implement strategies and manage standards so that effective customer service is achieved to both internal and external customers.QualificationsTo be successful in the role:A relevant tertiary or trade qualification in engineering, science, or technology.Demonstrated experience in managing a factory or operational site in a manufacturing or resource recovery industry.
