Raystone Tiling Limited is an Auckland based company and we are looking for experienced tilers who take massive pride in their work and operate with the highest trade standards.  Main Tasks & Responsibilities: Examining plans, measuring and marking surfaces and laying out work Preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and cleaning surfaces Cut tiles and shape them properly to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners and odd spaces using power and hand tools Align tiles and straighten them with straightedges, levels and squares to ensure patterns are even and precise Applying waterproofing systems Create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms Tap tiles into place carefully using tools to properly adhere tiles to the base, making sure not to break or damage tiles Apply hard tile, marble and wood tile to walls, floors, and various indoor and outdoor surfaces, including countertops and roof decks Install accessory equipment, wiring and/or fixtures according to project specifications Select appropriate tools and equipment needed to do a job while monitoring gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure components are working properly Troubleshoot operating errors and repair equipment as needed Perform quality control assessments throughout the duration of every project to ensure the completion of all work to a standard of excellence The above list is not exhaustive and the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the company.
You need to have: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as a Tiler Good practical skills An eye for shape, colour and symmetry Awareness of safety issues A pleasant manner with clients You need to be able to: Measure accurately and do basic maths calculations Work neatly Work on your own and as part of a team Physically demanding Requires driving.
