With over 50 years in the marine industry, our core business is new-build and refit work on commercial vessels ranging from 10m to 30m. RIGHT NOW: Two 24metre carbon-fibre electric ferries are currently at the superstructure fabrication stage and require full interior and exterior fit-out, systems set-up and installation, and complete vessel painting. Our continuous schedule of refit work for local and North Island-based commercial vessels spans complete vessel survey, interior and exterior refurbishment, systems checks and repairs, and painting preparation and application. WE ARE CURRENTLY RECRUITING FOR: Boat Builder - Composite or Aluminium Applicants should: Have NZQA Level 4 qualification, or the equivalent in aluminium or composite boat building and / or;Have an understanding of fundamental boat building techniques with a minimum 3 years' relevant work experience.Be self-motivated and have a high standard of workmanship.Be competent in the use of boat building equipment, tools and machinery.Be able to follow plans and specifications for project related tasks.Boat Builder "Leading Hand" - Composite or Aluminium Ideally with 5+ years' experience in boat building, this role requires a good understanding of construction and fabrication techniques, with the knowledge, skill and ability to be in charge of a small team of workers and guide them in a range tasks through to completion. Applicants should: Have a NZQA Level 4 qualification, or the equivalent in aluminium or composite boat building.Have team leader qualities and be able to effectively lead other staff varying from experienced workers through to boat building apprentices.Be self-motivated and have a high standard of workmanship.Be highly competent in reading plans and specifications and executing tasks accordingly.Work with supervisors to achieve targets and budgets.Complete tasks in accordance with company procedures.Meet Health & Safety obligations in the workplace.All applicants must currently reside in New Zealand and have NZ citizenship, residency, or a valid NZ work visa.
