Ko wai matou | About usAnglican Care Waiapu (ACW) is the social services arm of the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu. We have services and programmes in Bay of Plenty, Tairawhiti, Hawke's Bay and Tararua. We operate three types of workstreams or 'kete' being:Kete 1 is the ACW service operations that include early childhood education services, family & community services, older people programmes, grief programmes and parish outreach programmes;Kete 2 is impact partnerships with other organisations to bring about oranga ake o te iwi; andKete 3 is impact investment in which we seek to achieve ''blended'' financial, social and/or environmental returns, not just financial returns.We are currently forming our new strategy with the purpose of "oranga ake o te iwi", the flourishing of all people.Mo tenei turanga mahi | About this roleReporting directly to the Kaihautu (CEO) and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Executive & Communications Assistant plays a pivotal role in ensuring smooth and efficient operations at the senior leadership level. This role is a key part of our ongoing organisational development with our new strategy currently being formed. You will be instrumental in supporting organisational streamlined processes, enhancing the communications avenues, and being part of a team to help drive strategic initiatives forward.Key Responsibilities include:Excellence in Executive Administration: Providing general exec admin support along with planning and coordinating executive meetings including coordinating agendas, preparing meeting materials, tracking actions, and ensuring deadlines are met.Leadership in Communications: Developing a robust communications strategy to guide messaging, along with providing quality and well considered communications advice to Kaihautu to support delivery of communications.Board & Governance Expertise: Proficient in preparing and managing board papers and minutes, ensuring governance best practices are met.Document Management: Maintaining efficient and organised document management system and structures.Flexible Support: Handle diverse ad hoc duties with ease and professionalism.Confidentiality & Trust: Safeguard sensitive information with the utmost discretion.Strategic Partnership: Understand the broader impact of the EA & Comms role in achieving organisational success.Ta matou e tuku | What we offerACW offers a supportive and values driven environment in which to work. Additionally, we offer:A competitive salaryProfessional development opportunitiesBirthday and 'Soul Care' leave days offWork/life balance (this is important for us!)Ko wai koe | About youTo excel in this role, you will bring the following experience and skills:Demonstrated experience supporting senior leaders with professionalism and discretion.Experience in advising and writing of internal and external communications – ideal role for a Communications graduate.Exceptional organisational skills, detail orientation, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.Technically confident user of a wide range of systems, particularly Outlook diary management, and experience with document management, PowerPoint and Excel.Able to multi-task and be one step ahead to support the team to meet deadlines.Great relationship skills, able to build effectively connections across the team and external stakeholders, and be able to build trust and confidence.Understanding of te ao Maori and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.A tertiary qualification related to business, administration, communications or a relevant field is desirable.This is not a typical EA role, including communications expertise in the role portfolio, and it will give the right person exposure to our diverse and meaningful organisation. You will thrive in this role if you are proactive, adaptable, and resourceful individual who excels in a diverse environment. Your excellent organisational skills, along with your communications experience and interpersonal skills will be key in being successful in this role.
