Our Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Executive Assistant for a nine-month parental leave contract to support two of our Executive General Managers who report to our newly appointed Chief Executive. This Team is highly regarded, bring a wealth of expertise and are dedicated to putting our people, customers, communities, and shareholders at the heart of our business.

You'll be joining a small team of Executive Assistants supporting this lead team. This role currently supports our EGM People Experience & Technology and Acting EGM Generation - two large and very diverse business units. These are big and busy roles where you'll be embraced as a well-respected member of the senior leadership team and feel empowered to speak up and contribute. Your time is spent equally supporting both EGMs however this can fluctuate depending on business priorities.

As a business, we are constantly evolving and adapting and this may mean that over the course of this contract, your EGM's may change.

Some travel is required with this role to our generation sites and other offices within the North Island.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Administrative support, including managing complex diaries, ensuring that day-to-day priorities and changes are met and managed effectively

Provide support in relation to the reporting requirements of the business units, including sourcing and reviewing data, managing the process content and presentation of reports (including board reports)

Organising travel and accommodation

Coordinate leadership team and business unit meetings, including agendas, minutes and following up action items

Taking personal ownership for delivery of specific projects as required

Attending numerous meetings where confidentiality is essential

Event management of various internal and external events, both within Newmarket and our other sites in the North Island

Providing cover for the Executive Assistant Team as required

Liaising with other areas of the business to achieve outcomes and keep things moving.

We are looking for:

This role needs a confident communicator who can bring people together from all levels of a business. You're not afraid to speak up and guide people to get results and feel very comfortable working with a lot of confidential information. We have a great team of lively and passionate people and Mercury has a great vision, so you'll be exposed to many great initiatives and diverse thinking.

Your experience will include:

Proven EA experience at GM and above level, preferably obtained in a medium/large corporate environment

Ability to create quality business content for both internal and external use, including Board reports and presentations

Extensive diary management and experience organising travel and accommodation

Advanced MS Suite

Experience in managing large team events where you are not fazed by managing masses of people, retaining your calm manner and smile - no matter what is being thrown at you

An excellent communicator and collaborative team player with the ability to build rapport and positive relationships with your peers and key stakeholders

Ability to work proactively and autonomously with proven ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
