This is where you come in! As an Associate Product Designer at EverWell, you will drive UX outcomes through world-class product design for Timely (desktop and mobile). This role involves engaging with users through a human-centered approach and partnering with a cross-functional team – always taking them on the journey.

You'll plan and deliver product design work from problem definition – including solutioning & validation, build, and measuring success of your design. Your practice will focus on UX outcomes at every step. You'll advocate for users and ensure decisions are made with them in mind. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team with a certain level of ambiguity, dependencies, and stakeholder management. You will build up your design toolkit in this role, learning and practicing a variety of UX activities where outcomes are front and center, that lead to world-class results.

We need designers who're comfortable with a fast-paced high-growth environment. Ultimately, you'll be increasing value for our users and contributing to EverWell's overall product vision and goals.

Responsibilities Deliver high-quality product design, in a collaborative team environment.
Solve the right user problems, with the right solution through an insights-based approach.

Plan and conduct validation studies e.g., user testing to uncover and prioritize problems for iterating on.
Ensure cross-team alignment via no-surprises communication, facilitating group activities where appropriate (e.g., co-design, playing back test findings, showing work in progress, clearly articulating the why and connection to user need/problem).
Contribute to team rituals, gatherings, and help with admin (e.g., administering design tools and recruitment for user testing).

Skills and experience needed to be successful: Up to 2 years of experience in product design.
Has a user-centered design process and ability to articulate the "why" behind things.
Experience practicing some UX activities, e.g., problem statements/articulation, journey mapping, UX audit/analytics, competitor analysis, ideation, mapping user scenarios, user segmentation, prototyping, user testing.
Visual design skills for web (responsive) and/or iOS platforms.
Curiosity in UX research and understanding user goals, needs, pains, and mindsets.
Is comfortable making pragmatic decisions, eliciting feedback, and testing and iterating.
Understands why working cross-functionally is important, and is comfortable in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Is comfortable with ambiguity, communicating early with no surprises, and advocating for users.
Demonstrates humility and being a self-starter who can take initiative and loves to learn.

Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet ~60% of criteria, women and those in underrepresented groups tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes but don't meet every single bullet point above, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.

Why join us? At EverCommerce, we lead with inclusion and use our values to inform our decisions. We succeed together and celebrate the things that make us unique. We're big believers in work-life balance and offer additional annual leave so you can fully switch off and relax throughout the year.

We trust our team to work where they are the most productive. You'll have the flexibility to work from home or the office. We have office space in Auckland, Wellington, and Dunedin and provide a high-spec home office setup.

We set a high bar and support our team to innovate and focus on continuous growth. You'll enjoy a professional development budget to fuel your growth, and an annual wellness allowance to fund the things that support your wellbeing.

This role is full-time, permanent, and can be based anywhere in New Zealand.
You must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
Applications close when we find the right person!

Let us know any considerations which would enable your experience in our recruitment process to be more inclusive, such as non-traditional application formats, closed captions during video interviews, or accommodations for learning differences.
